STOP THE BRUTAL SLAUGHTER

OF AMERICA'S HORSES

Wild HorseWild Horse Did you know every year, approximately 80,000 American horses are live-exported over the borders to Canada and Mexico to be slaughtered for human consumption!

STOP and think about that for a moment.  That is horrid and by taking some very simple and zero cost steps, you can become part of a solution.

Driven by profit, the horses are reduced to nothing more than a commodity in the international horsemeat trade.

Want some good news?

By supporting The Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act H.R. 961 / S.2006, you will help ban horse slaughter facilities on USA soil and end the export of American horses for slaughter abroad.  Join the effort to pass the SAFE Act by contacting your federal legislators.

HORSES ARE BRED FOR MEAT IN THE USA

You probably didn't know that horses are bread for meat in America.  You might be wondering where 80,000 horses come from?  The unfortunately truth is that horses enter the slaughter pipeline from many different sources to include wild horses, domestic horses, race horses, and even pets.  Contrary to popular belief, most horses that find themselves at auction are young and healthy, with potential to start a new life with a new owner.

Kill buyers, and purchasers at auction houses that ship the newly bought horses long distances in cruel conditions without food, water, or rest.  The entire journey in the slaughter pipeline is inhumane, torturous, and brutal for the horses.  The slaughter process is literally a living nightmare documented in many investigative videos that you can see directly below.

As a constituent, I strongly urge you to cosponsor The Safeguard American Food Export (SAFE) Act, H.R. 961/S.2006.

If passed into federal law, the SAFE Act would prohibit the slaughter of American horses on U.S. soil and abroad.  Because horses are not raised as food animals in the USA, they are routinely given substances the FDA prohibits in animals destined for human consumption.  It is imperative the brutal and inhumane slaughtering of our nation's horses to prevent toxic horsemen from entering the global food supply.

Horse slaughter is also an animal welfare issue that is equally important to me.  The SAFE Act (H.R. 961/S.2006) will ensure none of our treasured horses, pets, and companions are subjected to the brutal abuse and cruelty of the slaughter pipeline - which ultimately lead to unimaginable and horrific deaths at slaughterhouses.

Please cosponsor and support The SAFE Act without further delay.

Thank you
