IRIS VARIABLE LENSBOARD
The Chamonix Iris diaphragm style variable lensboard is a savior when you want to mount a wide variety of vintage lenses that often don't have all of the proper mounting hardware. Even if the vintage lens has the proper mounting hardware, the ability to quickly mount any lens within seconds and not be forced to build or buy individual custom lensboards not only is a huge financial saving but makes life much easier too.
The iris shutter has a maximum usable opening of 90mm or 3.54 inches. This allows me to use the vast majority of my vintage lenses on this Sinar style adapter.
I also use this with my Sinar Copal Shutter to provide a state of the art shutter for my barrel lenses that are not mounted on a shutter. This also opens up the possibility of using modern sheet film, which otherwise is not possible without a shutter.
I will be posting new photos on this page as I mount my vintage lenses.
